Immerse – Daily Prompt

Though I am trying my best to immerse myself in my research and blog, I am falling short. I am anxious. I took my noon medication and it is working to the best of its ability, but sometimes my anxiety is more than it can handle.

We finally found out what is wrong with my husband. His gallbladder is not functioning. It is causing him great pain and yet he still manages to go to work each day. I am worried about him and that the gallbladder might rupture of become infected before we can see the surgeon in 2 weeks. He has a physical job, he’s a welder and machinist. He works very hard and to be in pain while having to rely on your body for your job just isn’t easy on him.

I called the surgeon’s office to try to move the appointment date up, but the doctor is out this week and unless someone cancels an appointment for next week, we will have to wait the duration of 2 weeks for a consultation. My husband is ready for surgery, by-pass all consultations, just yank the painful thing out!

Maybe my next blog page needs to be put aside and I work on something else. I was working on one for the gallbladder, but reading all the problems that can cause a gallbladder to stop working is really getting to me.

I am grateful that we finally know the cause of his pain. Now I am like him, let’s get it out!

~Peace

As a nurse I think it’s reprehensible that people with a known diagnosis which requires surgical intervention are made to wait weeks or months. To compound, many who are in pain can’t get medication prescribed because of the opiate epidemic. It’s become a terrible system.

I’m on a warpath of sorts. I’m refusing to tolerate being ignored by a doctor’s office any longer. When I started seeing a new neurologist for Botox for Migraine (after my long time doc gave 3 weeks notice that he was relocating to another state) I could not get the doctors nurse. MA, whatever to return my calls. All 7 of them over nearly 6 weeks. Botox needs a PA each time with my insurance and I wanted to make sure it was obtained as he is 1.5 hr drive one way. Finally I called my insurance company for guidance. Guess what? The office didn’t return their calls either. Next week is my second visit (every 3 months) and once again I’m running up against this BS. Called the insurance company today. I’ll get the injects this time but asked insurance to send me list of docs in another area. If I was that inept at any of my jobs I would have been fired ~ union or not.

Sounds like your dr lost his license in your state. They make their moves quickly so no one finds out how stupid they are for not following up on their board certifications in the state they were practicing in. I had it happen to me too. Very irritating and disappointing that they care so little about their patients. You can do a google search and find out if he still has a license to practice in your state, it may take some digging, but you can find it.

He does still have it BUT the boards often make deals. I do know he had been arrested for drunk driving two years ago ~ in the middle of a Saturday morning! The OB/GYN that did the 2 part hyst I just commented on was never vetted properly when he moved here. Board didn’t know he had sanctions against him in CA. Like I said, no more shut up & take their crap. They’ll get what they dish out. Be honest and open and I’ll respect you. Lie to me and fail to return my phone calls for months? Honey gear up because we Jersey Gals are mean when pushed.

I am so glad you found the answer. When my daughter had a CT scan and ultrasound and we found out her gallbladder was bad, we had to wait 10 days to see the surgeon while she was constantly in pain, vomiting, unable to eat much. So wow I really feel for him and you having to wait!!!
