Luck – Daily Prompt

Wouldn’t it be our luck that on St. Patrick’s day the daily prompt is the word luck.

I have to say that I am lucky. I may have a lot of invisible illnesses, but I am still lucky. I have my life, I have my faith, I have my family. I am blessed more than lucky.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful is everyone could get a day off from their pain to see just how blessed they really are? To see how loved, endeared and valuable they are to those around them.

I know how hard it is to find that moment of pain-free time to see the goodness of our lives when we suffer with invisible illnesses, but there is so much to be thankful for, we just have to look for it.

Be thankful that you have a voice, you can still advocate for those that can not. You are still able to do so many things that other people can’t do any longer. Count yourself lucky/blessed, whatever, but do or say something positive to keep your mind active in a good way.

Sure, we all have pity parties, but let’s try to keep those to a minimum and focus on the positive in our lives. We have food, we have shelter, we have so many things that are positive that so many people do not have. There will always be someone who is in worse shape than you are. Try to see it that way and your life will be more fulfilling.

~Peace

This site is about invisible illnesses and the hidden suffering that they wreak on those who are burdened by them. I suffer greatly, but find writing and sharing ideas important. I use aromatherapy to relax and I enjoy crocheting, beading, painting and research. Being a country gal makes it tough to follow a diabetic diet during the winter months. During the summer, vegetables are plentiful, but during the winter they are scarce. I need advice and help on meal planning. I have a second blog, www.tinabrownsartblog.wordpress.com where I display my paintings. Not very good, but I sure enjoy painting them.

  1. It’s so true, positive thoughts make positive people. It’s so tempting to focus just on the negative and neglect the positive. We forget how lucky we are.
