I’m Tina, I currently have many invisible illnesses. Interstitial cystitis (IC), fibromyalgia (fibro), diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, pelvic floor dysfunction, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, generalized anxiety disorder, TMJ, PTSD, migraines, chronic pain syndrome, chronic fatigue, Epstein Barr Virus and I’ve had 41 surgeries. I take a lot of medication to control these issues. But if you were to see me, you would just think I am a fat person that needs to exercise and eat less. Let me tell you, if I could exercise I would, but I hurt all over, all of the time. I am constantly fatigued and must rest after taking a shower. I do not like the way I look, I do not like having to park in a handicap parking space and you may not see anything wrong with me when I get out of the car to go into the store, but when I come out, I am dragging, I’m so tired I can barely think, the brain fog has set in and sometimes I don’t even know where the car is parked.
But…I’ve been blessed. Funny I say something like that after all of the things that are wrong with me, but I am. I have a loving husband that takes care of me and keeps me going in the right direction, forward. We stop in the store to rest as I need to and he does all of the loading and unloading of the car with the groceries. He always goes with me because of the brain fog and weakness after trudging through the store.
I try not to concentrate on my illnesses, but you wouldn’t think that considering that I’ve made this website, but I thought there was a need for awareness of some issues concerning invisible illnesses. When I’m not working on this site, I like to crochet, play scrabble online, beading and painting. I have many other crafts that I will do occasionally. I seem to lose interested in them and move on to the next one within a few months, or less.
